Watsu Massage

Watsu is a massage- and movement-therapy that is based on the teachings of Zen-Shiatsu. The treatment takes place in warm water at 35°C. Here the physical properties of the water are taken advantage of. The body, being removed from the force of gravity, is passively stretched. These movements focus on the one hand on the meridians, as in Shiatsu, and on the other hand, on the muscles and have a similar effect to any other passive movement therapy. Through a trust in the therapist, his/her control, and the warm water, a feeling of weightlessness can result, which can be perceived consciously and subconsciously.
